The family of a first grade teacher from Stratford killed in the Newtown school shooting has awarded the first scholarships from a memorial fund set up in her memory.
The memorial fund in honor of Victoria Soto awarded scholarships of $5,026 to two students.
The recipients were Maggie Bodington of Stratford High School and Emily Mackay of Bunnell High School. 
The number 26 in the scholarship is to honor all the victims of the shooting.
