Students back in class following delays due to overnight water main break in Warren Township

Students are back in class following delayed openings due to an overnight water main break in Warren Township.
Watchung Hills Regional High School and Green Brook Township Public Schools had two-hour delays.
According to Warren Township police, the water main break is located behind the high school, in the area of Mountain Avenue and Regional Drive. Police say Mountain Avenue will remain closed until further notice, as crews work to repair the break.
Students and staff made their way back into the high school as classes began at 9:30 a.m.
Before Care in Green Brook started at 9 a.m.
American Water says its crews responded to the water main break at about midnight and worked through the night to repair the main. Water service has been restored to the schools, and crews are preparing to repair the roadway.
Police are urging drivers in the area to plan alternate routes as the repair work continues.
