Sen. Richard Blumenthal tells News 12 he will be pushing for federal funding to help expand access to the internet.
He also wants to eliminate what he calls digital discrimination across the state.
"Every family in Connecticut and around the country deserves to be connected to the internet. Broadband connectivity is essential to finding jobs, doing homework, making sure health care is provided," says Blumenthal.
Blumenthal says the funding is in line with a growing demand for digital civil right policies.
He says the goal is to level the playing field for families who do not have broadband access.
