Sen. Richard Blumenthal tells News 12 he is pushing for a national ban on robocalls.
Blumenthal says it is time to permanently cut the cord with companies and campaigns that use computers to call people with unwanted political and or sales pitches.
"Voters have told me that if there is one thing they resent about the campaign season, it's those annoying robocalls that are going to become more frequent. As we enter the age of artificial intelligence that multiplies the capacity of candidates to send those robocalls, annoying and angering as they are," says Blumenthal.
Blumenthal says he wants phone companies to provide effective technology that will block unwanted calls at no cost to consumers.
