‘Very risky’: Sen. Blumenthall calls for bipartisan effort to protect public from AI industry

There has been a lot of talk lately about the artificial intelligence industry and its leadership.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal says recent turmoil at the artificial intelligence company OpenAI underscores the need for immediate federal action.
"It simply shows we need a regulatory framework, and I am working across the aisle with Republicans to make sure that we put together a bipartisan framework to regulate artificial intelligence and protect against its perils,” Blumenthal said. “It has a lot of promise, but the pitfalls are very risky."
