A group of senior citizens stood on the steps of the Bronx Supreme Court to voice their outrage at being laid off by the Yankees.
Pedro Valdez, one of 13 senior citizens who attended the news conference Thursday, says he was laid off because of his age. Valdez was let go when the team moved to its new stadium, he says.
"I'm very disappointed with the Yankees that they discriminate [against] me because of my age," Valdez says.
The group is suing the Yankees for $3 million. In a statement, Yankees spokesperson Alice McGillon denied the claims of the lawsuit.
