Service resumes on New Canaan Metro-North branch after derailment
The train derailed and appeared to have smashed through the wooden fence near the end of the station and a large police presence could be seen.

14h agoService has resumed on the New Canaan branch of Metro-North after a train derailed in New Canaan during morning rush hour.
It's the third time in 12 years a Metro-North train derailed in New Canaan.
A Metro-North train crashed at the end of the tracks at the New Canaan train station Tuesday morning, prompting an investigation by Metropolitan Transportation Authority police.
A spokesperson for the MTA says the train hit a bumping block just before 7:30 a.m., causing one car to partially derail. The train came to a stop after crashing through a fence.
The MTA spokesperson says no passengers were on board.
Metro-North Railroad's president says the train's conductor and locomotive engineer were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
