With just one week to go before Election Day, candidates in the heated race for the 4th Congressional District are trying to reach as many voters as possible.Rep. Chris Shays (R-Conn.) and his Democratic challenger Jim Himes were both on Bedford Street in Stamford Tuesday morning.Shays picked up an endorsement from Stamford's police union. He says he will spend the final week of the campaign making sure voters know what he has accomplished in office for the past 20 years.Himes mingled with potential voters at the Bedford Street Diner.
