Two Shelton
businesses are teaming up to offer free talks and tooth brushes during
National Children's Dental Health Month.
My Smile Orthodontics and River Road
Pediatrics are getting the word out about the importance of good dental
health.
The owners tell News 12 they've given out thousands of
tooth brushes and given advice at local schools and pre-schools.
"So Children's Dental Health Month was really established in order for children to adapt proper oral hygiene that will stay with them for the course of their lives -- so, for example, brushing twice a day, brushing for a fun two minutes, drinking more water, things they can adapt in their daily habits in order to make sure that this generation of children does not need to deal with dentures or bridges,” says Dr. Maria Karayiannis.
