William Lee, of Shelton, faces multiple charges after allegedly providing a false identity during a traffic stop on Route 8.
State police stopped Lee for speeding, reaching 90 mph and cutting across traffic.
Upon investigation, the name Lee provided matched an active warrant in Derby, but further inquiry revealed he had impersonated a relative.
Lee is charged with forgery, criminal impersonation and other offenses related to the traffic stop.
He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
