Two people were killed in a shooting in a Norwalk neighborhood, police say.

The incident happened Sunday on Chatham Drive around 5 p.m.

Police first notified the public to stay in their homes and shelter in place following reports of an armed subject in the area.

Police responded to the scene with an armored vehicle.

About two hours later, police say there was no longer a threat to the public, and it was discovered that two people had died of gunshot wounds.

They have yet to be identified.

Investigators remained on scene for a few more hours to try and determine the events leading up to their deaths.
