Shoppers swarmed Connecticut Post Mall in Milford Friday in an effort to return gifts, spend gift cards and search for post-Christmas sales.
Employees at Francesca's Collections say shoppers were looking for spring and summer clothes, and for a good deal.
"A lot of our clothes that have been sitting in the store are now on sale. Our sale section, it is slamming, and people always want to go there," said Rita Galvin, of Francesca's Collections.
The National Retail Federation has forecasted that holiday sales will rise more than 4 percent this year over last.
