Stamford police officers say they were shot at while questioning a man Saturday after a fight allegedly broke out at a nightclub.
Three officers stopped a car on Davenport Street after shots were heard nearby. They say a fight broke out at Café Moja on Greenwich Avenue. They say one of the two individuals in the car jumped out and ran.
Police say there was then a violent struggle and the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired. The officers wrestled 21-year-old Kevin Ebron to the ground before they could draw their weapons.
Police say they found another gun that may have been associated with the incident. Two people were arrested and police say they are looking at surveillance video from Café Moja?s camera system to figure out how the fight started.
Three police officers were hurt during the scuffle but are expected to be okay.
Police say Ebron is a convicted felon and he faces attempted murder of a police officer. He is being held on $1 million bond.
