A sidewalk closure on a busy street is causing safety concerns for some Stamford residents.
Aside from signs, residents say there is no permit saying who is behind the closure near the intersection of Pacific and Henry streets. They add that the closure has been a major inconvenience since the signs went up a few weeks ago.
Residents must walk along the street and be mindful of passing cars, which they say is worrisome when children are walking.
The city engineer says officials set up a barrier to protect the public from debris falling from the nearby deteriorating building.
City officials have not said when they expect the project to be finished.
