Snow emergencies declared in Connecticut ahead of massive winter storm

Various towns in Connecticut declared early snow emergencies and urged residents to prepare.

Towns across Connecticut have issued parking bans and snow emergencies ahead of the massive storm arriving on Sunday.

Westport officials have issued a blizzard warning advisory for residents. A parking advisory has also been put in place.

In Stamford, Mayor Caroline Simmons declared a winter storm emergency effective at 3 p.m. Feb. 21, 2026, through 8 a.m. Feb. 25, 2026.

The Town of Greenwich announced its snow emergency beginning at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, and continuing into Monday. Street parking will be temporarily restricted throughout the town.

The Town of Fairfield has issued an alternate side parking ban beginning Sunday Feb.22, at 6 a.m.

City of Norwalk Mayor Barbara Smyth has declared a Snow Emergency starting on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 8:00 a.m.

Mayor Joseph Ganim has declared a snow emergency for Bridgeport effective 12 a.m. Sunday, and a parking ban is also in effect.
