The body of a Bronx woman who police say was killed by her nephew has been found, according to police sources.
The sources say they believe Andros Topping, 37, killed his 69-year-old aunt, Patricia Myers, and stuffed her into a suitcase that was found in a wooded area along Harlem River Drive Monday evening.
Myers had been missing since April. She was last seen at her apartment building on the Grand Concourse, where her nephew had also been staying.
Police charged Topping with murder and manslaughter last week. They say he admitted to beating her to death before they discovered the body.
Police also say they found blood throughout her apartment and on her belongings.
Neighbors say Topping had been staying with his aunt after getting out of prison on parole just over two weeks ago. He served 13 years for felony assault and attempted burglary.
Myers, a retired nurse, was known in her community as an independent older woman who insisted on getting things done on her own. Neighbors say she had lived in her Grand Concourse apartment for decades.
