Stamford Animal Control says it will likely start trapping coyotes later this week following a large spike in sightings.
Many of the sightings have happened along Scofieldtown Road in North Stamford. A 12-year-old girl says she was followed by three coyotes Monday on the road while walking home from school.
On Wednesday, Animal Control passed out fliers telling people what to do if they see a wild coyote.
Officers will likely begin trapping the animals around Sterling Farms Golf Course by Friday.
