More than 200 Synchrony workers volunteered across nine charities in Stamford and across Connecticut for their annual Day of Caring.

"It's all about supporting the local community," Carol Juel, executive vice president, chief technology and operating officer at Synchrony.

One of the charities the Stamford-based company partnered with was Toys for Tots. Volunteers put together 50 bikes to donate to the toy drive.

"It's amazing, I'm always surprised at the connections people have that are able to donate and give to charity," said Lance Cpl. Nicholas Savona, from Toys For Tots.

Brooke Healy, youth ambassador for Toys for Tots, says they see so much meaning in events like this.

"It's amazing how much work goes into it. And it's a great thing for people to see, it's more than just giving toys out, it's the things that are behind it and the people that do it with us," said Healy.

The bikes were handed off to Toys for Tots warehouse Wednesday afternoon.

"Being able to provide opportunities for our employees to give back in such a meaningful way is the best part of my job," said Juel.
