A Stamford fire damaged a three-story home, displacing 12 people.
Officials say the flames sparked around 11 a.m. Saturday morning inside the home on Warren Street.
Alberto Torres, one of the residents of the home, told News 12 that if people screaming from outside of the home hadn’t yelled for them to get out, no one in the home would have known the house was in flames.
“There was no fire alarms going off, no nothing,” he said. “We had no clue that my whole apartment was on fire.”
They say no one was injured.
Fire officials say there's heavy damage to the third-floor porch and interior apartment, and it's not safe for anyone to live there.
They say the heat from the fire did warp one nearby home but the damage was mostly contained.
The American Red Cross is currently assisting those families.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
