Stamford officials kicked off Bike to Work Week this morning while celebrating the completion of a new bike parking project in the city.
Officials say the city has installed 20 new metal bike racks that slip onto parking meter poles.
Mayor David Martin joined the leaders of the Downtown Special Services District to install the final bike hitch near Veterans Park.
Mayor Martin says this is an important part of moving downtown neighborhoods forward.
The program is part of an initiative that focuses on making the city's streets safer and more accessible for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
