Stamford resident Anthony Fiordelisi is set to go before a judge today on charges he murdered his elderly mother by slashing her wrists.
Officials say that Fiordelisi, 59, also tried to kill himself, but was unsuccessful.
Police report that Fiordelisi was depressed over taking care of his bed-ridden mother. Investigators say Fiordelisi first tried to kill his 89-year-old mother, Marion, on Monday by giving her a large amount of pills.
Fiordelisi is currently being held on $500,000 bond.
