Stamford officials say city employees are required to be vaccinated or face
weekly testing.
Mayor David Martin says the decision comes as coronavirus cases increase in the
city and statewide.
The city’s medical advisor, Dr. Henry Yoon, says the vaccine is safe and
effective.
“We know that people who get immunized and vaccinated not only are less likely
to get the disease, but they’re highly protective against severe diseases,
hospitalizations and death,” Yoon says. “We do know the vaccine works against
the variants, including the delta.”
Masks are also required to be worn by visitors inside the government center and
the police department.
