A Stamford mother is holding out hope that someone can help police find the killer who shot her son to death 20 years ago.
Cedirc McKinney, of Stamford, was killed in a drive-by shooting on May 14, 1996. He was 19 years old and killed just two days before his birthday.
Debra McKinney says her son was on Connecticut Avenue in Stamford talking to his girlfriend when the shooting happened.
One person was arrested in the case but records show there was not enough evidence for charges to stick.
McKinney says she wants someone arrested, charged and prosecuted.
"I'm just hoping to get some closure, and get some answers," she says. "My child's life was taken. I just need some answers."
She says police did not give her any information about the investigation.
News 12 has reached out to officials for a comment, but has not yet received a response.
