Police in Colorado say a former Stamford resident is in custody and is being charged with first-degree murder after allegedly going on a shooting spree that killed one person and left two others hospitalized.
Police say Kevin Lee Lyons, 46, opened fired on his wife and another woman, then killed a 65-year-old doctor who was coming to their aid in suburban Denver on Monday. Police say the women are expected to make a full recovery.
An attorney for Lyons' parents said that his clients are traveling to Colorado for the court proceedings and that they are very upset about what has happened.
Authorities are still determining what led to the act of violence. Lyons' attorney has raised questions about the mental health of his client.
