The Stamford Department of Health is holding a 'Flu Kick-Off Event' today.
The campaign is part of the city's effort to encourage all residents to get a flu shot.
Mayor David Martin will receive his annual flu vaccination during the event.
It will take place at the Department of Health's Henry Street Clinic at 10:30 a.m.
The CDC says the flu vaccine prevents tens of thousands of hospitalizations each year.
During the 2019 to 2020 flu season, the CDC estimates the flu vaccine prevented 105,000 flu-related hospitalizations.
