Stamford city officials say they will be announcing pedestrian safety enhancements near Stamford High School Thursday following an accident that killed 18-year-old Karina Tinajero.
Tinajero was killed on Strawberry Hill Avenue Saturday while she walked to take the SAT.
Officials say the mayor and Superintendent Earl Kim have been working to come up with short and long-term plans to address several complicated traffic issues near the school.
The mayor will hold a news conference to discuss the safety enhancements Thursday at 1 p.m.
A memorial for Tinajero was set up outside of the school with candles, flowers, balloons and messages.
Police say Tinajero was not using the crosswalk when she was struck and the driver was not charged.
