A Stamford basketball program is celebrating the upcoming graduations of four of its original players.
All four played at different high schools, but came together on the court to play for the Stamford Peace.
Coach Brian Kriftcher helped found the Peace program in 2008 to give opportunities to athletes who didn't have their priorities in order.
"Their job is to do their best in school, do their chores at home, be good citizens and the reward is they get invested in by coaches and adults," he says.
The original players are now graduating. Kweshon Askew is headed to Division 1 LIU-Brooklyn next year on a full scholarship. Ryan Kriftcher will play at RPI. Tyrell St. John will attend Western Connecticut State University and Jeremiah Livingston is headed to a Division 1 junior college.
All four players say that it's what they learned on and off the court that put them where they are today.
The Stamford Peace started in 2008 with one team. The program now has 18 teams for boys and girls.
