Stamford has agreed to shoulder all costs related to medical problems from a bug infestation at the city's police headquarters.
At least a dozen people, including the chief, have been bitten. Four have since tested positive for Lyme disease. Stamford will swallow the cost of workers compensation for anyone diagnosed with Lyme disease.
The city will have medical personnel available beginning Friday to screen for illnesses. It will also fumigate the building.
