A state trooper and an Oakville woman were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle accident on I-84 east in Waterbury.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. Saturday near exit 25A.

State police say Kaitlyn Mckenna, 21, was driving a Dodge Stratus in the center lane and lost control of the vehicle, causing her to hit the side of a Toyota Corolla that was in the right lane.

Mckenna then hit the back of a state police cruiser that had been parked in the right shoulder. The trooper and McKenna were transported to St. Mary's Hospital for minor injuries.

All three cars were towed away from the scene.

Mckenna was issued a misdemeanor summons for several violations. They include operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to driver in the proper lane and traveling too fast for conditions.
