State officials say new numbers are showing an expected increase in Connecticut's budget surplus.

The state comptroller says the estimated surplus for the 2012 fiscal year is more than $83.5 million.

That is an increase from a report last month.

Officials say that could change if economic growth continues to be inconsistent.
