A state trooper is recovering after his cruiser was struck Saturday morning on I-95 in Norwalk.
State police say Officer David Krause was investigating an abandoned vehicle at Exit 14 when a driver slammed into his cruiser.
Firefighters worked to get him out of his vehicle and put him into an ambulance. Police say he was treated at Norwalk Hospital for back and leg pain and later released.
The driver who police say hit Krause, 27-year-old Ryan Arbito, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and several other violations.
Arbito was released on $2,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court June 26.
