State trooper to adopt abandoned dog tied to a guard rail in Naugatuck

Police say the dog was malnourished and without tags.

A young male German Shepherd that was found tied to a guardrail on Route 8 in Naugatuck on Sunday is in the process of being adopted by one of the troopers who found him.
Police say the dog was malnourished and without tags.
The dog was brought to the Woodbridge Regional Animal Control facility and they are taking care of him.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the abandoned dog to contact Woodbridge Regional Animal Control at (203) 389-5991.
The case remains under investigation.
