A Woodbridge resident has been charged with 22 counts of animal cruelty.
Woodbridge Regional Animal Control says a women came to the shelter on
Saturday and said she wanted to surrender her animals.
A total of 23 dogs, seven bunnies, a guinea pig and about 40 cats have been rescued so far. Jessica Moffo, chief of the Animal Control Department says she still has about 30 more cats to rescue.
"They were in pretty bad shape when it comes to condition of grooming wise,. They had ear infections, eye infections, skin infections, some open sores, they were toatally matted from head to toe, covered in feces and urine." said Moffo.
The shelter has received an overwhelming amount of donations since communities heard of the news.
