The stormy weather caused a tree to fall and take down wires in Greenwich Tuesday.
It happened near Lake Avenue and Round Hill Road around 6 a.m.
Police say more than 280 homes lost power. Crews were forced to close Lake Avenue at the intersection of Round Hill Road while they worked on removing the tree and fixing the lines.
Police remind residents to stay away from downed trees because they could have live wires tangled in them.
