People in Stamford are still cleaning up from Sunday's storms, which left residents without power and caused some road closures Monday morning.
A tree in the front yard of a home on Dannell Drive came down onto the roof, causing serious structural damage. The front portion of the side of the home is sloping forward. The home has been deemed unsafe to be in.
The owner says he has lived there his whole life and he calls the scene heartbreaking, but the good news is no one was inside the home when it happened.
"It's mind-boggling when you see the damage and what Mother Nature can do," says Joe Somma.
North Stamford also saw some damage, with some downed trees and power lines not far from the reservoir, which did cause a road closure.
That area is woodsy. One neighbor said power outages from storms come with the territory when you live up there, which is one reason why he has a generator.
Woodbine Road at Brushwood Road was also blocked Monday as crews worked to remove a tree that fell across the road and onto power lines.
The incident knocked out power to the neighborhood.
"Everything cooled down after the storm so that part wasn't too bad," says Melinda Smith. "But I just went grocery shopping Saturday and now everything's gone bad."
