18-year-old killed in Bridgeport shooting

An 18-year-old boy was fatally shot in Bridgeport, police say.

The incident happened Sunday after 6 p.m. in the 500 block of Newfield Avenue.

Police say multiple 911 callers reported hearing shots fired in the neighborhood.

When police arrived on scene they discovered 18-year-old Ty'quess Moore lying in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds just a few blocks from where he lived.

Police say he was shot in the torso, arms and leg.

Moore was reportedly a student at Bassick High School.

Moore was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. The fatal shooting marks the 17th homicide for the city this year.
