Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing New Canaan woman Jennifer Dulos, has been charged with murder in connection to her disappearance.
Fotis Dulos was taken into custody at his Farmington home Tuesday by state police, Lt. Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan Police Department confirmed.
State police confirmed Fotis Dulos was arrested and charged with felony murder, murder and kidnapping of his estranged wife. His girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Fotis Dulos’ bond was set at $6,000,000 and Troconis' bond was set to $2,000,000.
Both were arrested on warrants issued by the Western District Major Crime Squad in connection with the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos. Fotis Dulos arrived at State Police Troop G headquarters in Bridgeport Tuesday after being arrested.
Additionally, an attorney, Kent Mawhinney, was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder charge.
Jennifer Dulos has been missing since May 24, 2019. She was last seen dropping their five children off at school in New Canaan. Police say they believe Fotis Dulos was lying in wait at Jennifer Dulos' home when she returned that morning and some kind of physical assault occurred. Police say Fotis Dulos used an employee's truck to get to New Canaan that day and that Jennifer Dulos' blood was found on the seat.

Police obtained surveillance video early on in the investigation of Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend Troconis throwing out trash bags at more than 30 spots in Hartford.
Tests confirmed Jennifer Dulos' blood was in some of the bags recovered from the trash. Fotis Dulos and Troconis were originally charged with two counts of evidence tampering and hindering prosecution in connection with the case.
Fotis Dulos’ attorney Norm Pattis said Tuesday that despite the criminal charges, his client is innocent and should not be kept from his children. He told the media Tuesday night that the arrest warrant was a "relief."
"The warrants today come as relief to us," he says. "They come as a relief because after months of listening to innuendo, suggestion and rumor, we now have something to shoot at and we intend to begin firing shots at Mr. Dulos' bond hearing."
Carrie Luft, a spokeswoman for Jennifer Dulos' family released a statement shortly after Fotis Dulos was arrested saying, "above all we thank the Connecticut State Police and the New Canaan Police Department, as well as the assisting local departments, for their tireless commitment and diligent, painstaking work that have led to these arrests. Although we are relieved that the wait for these charges is over, for us there is no sense of closure. Nothing can bring Jennifer back. We miss her every day and will forever mourn her loss. We believe the arrest warrants will speak for themselves, and we ask that you please respect our privacy during this time. Thank you."
