The Westport community came together Sunday to clean up after a tornado swept through the area during Tropical Storm Isaias.
People started clearing minor debris at Jesup Green, right outside of the library. Dr. David Singer, of the Mohonk Children's Foundation, helped organize the event as public works and parks and recreation crews have been working tirelessly.
Organizers say they plan to clean up multiple locations.
As News 12 has reported, the National Weather Service confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down in Westport Tuesday during the storm. It ripped the roof off of a structure. No injuries were reported.
Eversource hopes to have everyone restored by late Tuesday evening.
