Stratford man pleads guilty to arson that destroyed Shakespeare Theatre

Christopher Sakowicz, a 20-year-old man from Stratford, pleaded guilty to setting the Shakespeare Theatre on fire in 2019.

Christopher Sakowicz, a 20-year-old man from Stratford, pleaded guilty to setting the Shakespeare Theatre on fire in 2019.
Sakowicz also pleaded guilty to charges connected to at least three other arsons over a three-month period.
The fire destroyed the beloved theatre built in 1955. Katharine Hepburn, Christopher Plummer, and James Earl Jones were just a few of the famous names that graced its stage.
Sakowicz's sentencing is set for Sept. 10.
Two other men also faces charges in connection to the fire.
