Health officials say test results on a Stratford man will likely come back positive for swine flu.
Lisa Pippa, the director of the Stratford Health Department, says the man recently traveled to Mexico and is exhibiting some symptoms of the virus. According to Pippa, the man did not need to be hospitalized and is doing well.
Stratford Mayor Jim Miron held a news conference to provide residents with current information about the status of swine flu in the area and what precautions are being taken. Miron says residents need to remain calm and use common sickness prevention methods to keep themselves healthy.
In addition to the suspected case of swine flu in Stratford, Gov. Jodi Rell says a Southbury adult is recovering from a probable case. The Town of East Haddam is also canceling classes Wednesday after two students who recently returned from Mexico showed symptoms of the flu.
