The Stratford community came together Tuesday to help the people affected by last week's fire at an apartment complex.
A fundraiser was held at Beach House Bar. Stratford Mayor Laura Hoydick was a guest bartender, filling her tip jar with cash going to a fund to help those victims.
Twenty-two people lost their homes after the fire on Success Avenue Wednesday. The building may have to be torn down.
The fire chief was at the fundraiser and said the fire is believed to be accidental.
All money raised at Tuesday’s event will go to the victims of the fire. Donations can also be dropped off at the police department.
Among the items needed is clothing for men and women, and especially girls. There's also a special request for school and pet supplies.
