The Bridgeport Marshalls location has been closed due to "serious safety concerns," city officials say.
The front door of the location shows a sign that reads "Violation: Notice to vacate -- this building does not conform to the building code of the state of Connecticut, and any occupancy until this violation is corrected is unlawful."
Customers tell News 12 that it is frightening to think about what city officials describe as '"the potential for a roof collapse."
Public records show a separate company based out of New York owns the building.
Neither the company nor Marshalls has released a statement regarding the issue.
