Dozens of public school students were left stranded on the first day of school Wednesday as they waited for buses that never came.Stratford school officials say they cut three buses this school year, leaving only two for the entire school. The superintendent says school policy dictates students who live less than two miles from campus are not entitled to bus transportation. The policy has been in place for some time, but it?s not until this year that the district decided to enforce the rule.Students and parents were notified of the change in June, according to school officials.
