The population of the U.S. is growing and some places are growing faster than others, including parts of western Connecticut.
In a five year study, financial site “24/7 Wall Street” found lower Fairfield County came out as the fastest-growing metro in the state.
According to the data, employment opportunity could be a reason.
Lower Fairfield County has a 5.1 percent unemployment rate and saw 4.7 percent job growth between 2011 and 2016.
The state as a whole had a boost in global tech companies too.
