Stamford's Bobby Valentine managed his first home game today for the Boston Red Sox.
Valentine led the Red Sox in a 12-2 drubbing of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Valentine said before the game that many fans from southwestern Connecticut were in attendance at today's game.
It was the 100th home opener in Red Sox history.
