A serious crash has forced the closure of Sugar Hollow Road in both directions Monday morning, according to Danbury police.

The road is closed between Bennetts Farm Road at the Ridgefield town line and Miry Brook Road in Danbury. Police expect the closure to remain in place until around 10 a.m.

Motorists traveling north or south are urged to seek alternate routes. Suggested detours include George Washington Highway and Route 53.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and allow extra travel time. Police are asking residents to help spread the word to those who may be affected by the closure.
