Kids across southwestern Connecticut reveled in the wonderful Labor Day weather Monday before heading back to school this week.
Many chose to take advantage of the sunny skies and warm temperatures at the beach for a last hurrah. Beachgoers say they didn?t want to waste a single moment of waning summer weather.
Officials say it may have been the biggest summer for Connecticut beaches, with many people staying close to home this season.
Beaches will remain open after the weekend, but Monday is the last day lifeguards will be patrolling the beaches in Fairfield. Officials urge beachgoers to take safety precautions when there are no lifeguards around.
