A survey released Wednesday by the University of Connecticut at Stamford shows 53 percent of people support the long-debated Super 7 highway connecting Norwalk and Danbury.
Only 6 percent of about 500 people who took part in the survey oppose the idea of building the expressway, while the remaining 40 percent don't have an opinion on the issue.
"I'm pleased to say that the results today are exactly what I thought they have been all this time," says state Sen. Bob Duff (D-Norwalk).
However, state Sen. Toni Boucher (R-Wilton), who opposes the Route 7 project, has called into question the credibility of the survey.
