Survivor of double leg amputation shares his story to inspire others facing hardships
When 56-year-old Edmund Comfort walked into a Bridgeport law firm Saturday, he had a skip in his step one might not expect from a man with two prosthetic legs.

A man who survived a double leg amputation is sharing his story with the hope to inspire others who are facing hardships.
When 56-year-old Edmund Comfort walked into a Bridgeport law firm Saturday, he had a skip in his step one might not expect from a man with two prosthetic legs.
"I can do all kinds of things, from kicking to running to dancing, thanks to the miracle of prosthetics," Comfort told News 12.
"My friendship with Dennis Bradley has helped me in so many ways because he's a lawyer and he advocates for me whenever I face an obstacle -- and I've faced quite a few of those," Comfort said.
Bradley says Comfort contracted an infection in 2023 that led to the amputation of both Comfort's legs and the amputation of three fingers on his right hand.
"Edmund's story is emblematic of the great American spirit, and I'm so proud to know him because he never lets anything get him down. He's a fighter," Bradley said
Comfort says he's sharing his story to inspire others, especially young people.
"They have their whole lives ahead of them and it's important for them to know that traumatic events -- especially ones that are life-changing -- don't mean your life is over. When one door closes, another door opens. There's always hope, so keep the faith and finish the race," he said.
