Bridgeport police are looking for a man who assaulted a woman during a home invasion on Sunday.
The suspect broke into the Gregory Street home around 5:30 p.m., according to police.
Police say the 38-year old victim had a party the night before with a group of at least four people. Officials believe that one of those four noticed that the victim had a large amount of money on her and then returned to the home early in the morning to get it.
They say the suspect came in through an unlocked side door and tried to shoot the woman before assaulting her.
Police say the victim was punched in the face and choked with a belt before the suspect got away with her money.
Police say the victim has been released from the hospital.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police Department.
